Spirited Away Art Director Says Dogo Onsen Inspired the Bathhouse’s Exterior

Ghibli art director Yoji Takeshige says he referenced the exterior of Dogo Onsen’s main bathhouse while designing Spirited Away’s bathhouse. Hayao Miyazaki has said no single building served as its sole model.
