Japan High Courts Rule Marriage Equality Unconstitutional as Supreme Court Considers Case

Courts in Canada granted asylum to Hana and Eri after agreeing that relocating within Japan would not stop the discrimination they faced. Separately, five of Japan’s eight High Courts have ruled that the lack of marriage equality is unconstitutional, with the Supreme Court reviewing the issue.
