Japan’s Foreign Resident Population Reaches Record High as Japanese Population Hits Record Low

Japan’s total population has declined to a record low, with the number of Japanese citizens dropping below 120 million for the first time in 42 years. At the same time, the foreign resident population continues to rise and has reached a new record high.
