Kamihakari at Izumo Taisha Brings Japan’s Gods Together for Agriculture and Marriage
In Shimane Prefecture, Izumo Taisha is said to host Kamihakari—an annual gathering where Japan’s gods convene for agriculture and marriage. While October is usually Kannazuki, “the month with no gods,” Izumo is described as Kamiarizuki, when the gods are present.
