Gundam 50th Anniversary Project Launches with Prologue Movie, SEED FREEDOM ZERO Theatrical Film, Original Series Remaster, and Gundam Wing New Footage
Bandai Namco's cross-group Gundam Project officially kicked off at the Gundam Conference SPRING 2026 event on May 15, unveiling a prologue movie titled 'Shonen to Gundam' (A Boy and Gundam) that brings together mechs and moments from across the franchise's history. Key announcements include a theatrical film for Gundam SEED FREEDOM ZERO, a remaster of the original Mobile Suit Gundam series, and new footage in production for Gundam Wing. Director Jim Mickle also delivered a message video for the previously announced live-action film GUNDAM (working title), marking the first public communication from the Hollywood production.
