Jake Adelstein Receives Yomiuri Social Department Director Award for Reporting on an Illegal Finance and Money Laundering Case

Jake Adelstein says he won the Yomiuri Shimbun Social Department Director Award for a yearlong investigation into an illegal finance case linked to the former Goriyokai and money laundering. He recalls then Social Department Director Hiroyasu Goami as a sharp medical journalist and notes he maintains ties with Eiji Kiyosaki, who appears in his book “The Reporter Can’t Go to Heaven.”
